Peter Beinart: “Even as Republicans claim political momentum, the country is in the midst of a major shift leftward when it comes to the role of government. That shift is playing itself out from infrastructure to health care to finance and perhaps eventually to the environment. No one knows whether these shifts will revive the U.S. economy and lay the foundation for stable, broad-based growth, just as no one could predict the impact of the rightward turn in American policy in the early 1980s. Decades later, liberals and conservatives still disagree about whether Reagan’s reforms changed America for good or ill. What they don’t disagree about is the fact that they fundamentally changed America. Those changes made Reagan one of the most consequential presidents in American history. Eighteen months in, it’s a good bet that historians will say the same about Barack Obama.”

So, readers, let's see how Vice President Biden responds to a citizen that requested a tax cut.

So, readers, let’s see how Vice President Biden responds to a citizen that requested a tax cut. The owner said that if he lowed his taxes, he would call it even. Biden’s sad response was to call the store owner a “smart ass” rather than a proud American running a business that helps and supports our nation.

Biden’s latest comment came during a visit to Wisconsin where he was campaigning for Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold. When the vice president stopped at Kopp’s Frozen Custard for an icy treat, the shop’s manager casually suggested to the veep that the Obama administration “lower our taxes.” Biden’s response: “Why don’t you say something nice instead of being a smartass all the time?”

Biden’s defense is he was joking. No, Joe, you are being a smart ass. And you do it “all” the time. Anyone that votes for this man should be ashamed.

So out of touch, no wonder why Obama and Biden continue to garner disgust from America.Popular Posts:

Lawmakers Planning To Crack Down After E. coli Breakouts

BOSTON –E. coli is a major problem for the food industry and a risk to public health. E. coli outbreaks have killed hundreds of people, sickened thousands and led to the recall of millions of pounds of hamburger, spinach, lettuce and other produce.

Now, lawmakers are considering passing a law that would ramp up FDA oversight of food safety. The regulations are still in the works, but already strong opposition is building among local farmers.

That was one of the headlines on the Boston channel a week ago.

Statistics Lie

Statistical lies are often fed to us in order to allow bureaucracy prosper. Here is a case in point. The article we site below is a case of government trying to destroy the small farmer by employing rules that make it so expensive for them to operate they will likely have to fold up shop.

Of course, government, as usual, attempts to pass such laws because, they are, after all, for our own good. In order to convince us that this action is for our safety, these are the statistics thrown at us…

Since March 1, more than 26 people in five states have been sickened from romaine lettuce. In 2006, there were three deaths and 276 illnesses after E. coli outbreaks linked to fresh spinach and iceberg lettuce. In 2009, two people died, dozens sickened after an E. coli outbreak linked to ground beef distributed on the East Coast. E. coli is a potentially deadly bacteria that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration.

Certainly, it would be truly wonderful if everyone in the world could be saved from every disease and calamity. But at some point, people have to realize, we all die. To statistically save one person at a cost of billions to taxpayers may sound like a noble cause, but taking even a small fraction of this money to feed the poor would save thousands if not millions. It is an ill conceived lie to bait you into building government.

Let’s look at the statistics. The statement that in 2006, three deaths occurred after outbreaks, means that 3/350,000,000 died. What were your chances of dying? Less than your chances of winning your state lottery ten times…in a row.

Since March, 26 people got ill? Think about the simple math!! That means less than one person had symptoms, no matter how minor, out of 13,461,538 people!!! Thirteen million to one!!

We are a nation that has no obvious priorities. What makes the press rules. One child dies and we must prevent it from every happening again at the cost of billions while millions starve because we can’t provide them basic medical needs such as vaccinations?

Don’t let the government make you believe in these lies. Statistically, it is a huge waste of money better spent. Logically, it is a fraudulent way to grow government in the name of safety.Popular Posts:

What does the election of a Republican Senator from Massachusetts mean? It means the Democrats now have to start answering to the American people. Balance was in order, and the most Democratic state in the nation voted Republican by a wide margin (yes, he ran as an Independent, but it was clear he would not vote with the Democratic majority).

It is our guess that Scott Brown will shortly convert to the Republican party. And there is little doubt he will vote against the national healthcare debacle.

Most of what we said prior to the election has come true. The Democrats have put us so far in a hole, that the light at the surface is no longer visible. They have claimed credit for the Fed’s actions to restore the economy. They have not delivered on any of their promises. And they have lied so much that if Pinnochio were a Democrat, his nose would reach from Provincetown, Massachusetts, to San Diego, California.

Obama actually came to Massachusetts to crush Scott Brown. The Democrats resorted to their lies and mudslinging in the campaign to get Democrat Martha Coakley elected after their attempts to get votes legitimately failed. Scott kept his head high and, in so doing, gained even more respect, as people looked on Coakley with total disdain.

Nothing the Democrats did could change the result, even in a state that is even more Democrat than Bill Ayers! Scott Brown and Massachusetts sent them a huge message. Stop lying and start doing something other than spending our money!!

Will someone tell us what Obama has accomplished since the election? Anything? Anyone? Well, to be honest, he did introduce his guests to Kobe Beef ON AMERICA’S NICKLE!!

And will someone PLEASE shut up that stupid comic, Wanda Sykes?? Every time she opens her mouth, all that comes out is nauseating nonsense. She was good on The Drew Carey show though, when she didn’t confuse her ability to make people laugh with intelligence.

We welcome Scott Brown and we welcome America to the reality of Obama’s first and last term.

G.O.P. Senate Victory Stuns Democrats

BOSTON — Scott Brown, a little-known Republican state senator, rode an old pickup truck and a growing sense of unease among independent voters to an extraordinary upset Tuesday night when he was elected to fill the Senate seat that was long held by Edward M. Kennedy in the overwhelmingly Democratic state of Massachusetts.

By a decisive margin, Mr. Brown defeated Martha Coakley, the state’s attorney general, who had been considered a prohibitive favorite to win just over a month ago after she easily won the Democratic primary.

With all precincts counted, Mr. Brown had 52 percent of the vote to Ms. Coakley’s 47 percent.

“Tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Mr. Brown told his cheering supporters in a victory speech, standing in front of a backdrop that said “The People’s Seat.”

The election left Democrats in Congress scrambling to salvage a bill overhauling the nation’s health care system, which the late Mr. Kennedy had called “the cause of my life.” Mr. Brown has vowed to oppose the bill, and once he takes office the Democrats will no longer control the 60 votes in the Senate needed to overcome filibusters.

He spends US tax dollars to pay for disability and medical benefits should he contract cancer, emphysema or other related diseases as a result of his idiocy. He makes no effort to provide an example by quitting for those he says must change. Obama’s mantra is “change”, so long as it is not he that must “change”.

Obama’s hypocrisy does not end there.

When you read this article about a man asked to pay $675k to record labels for illegally downloading songs, it almost seems surreal or laughable. It is the epitome of a judge trying to make an example of a single person, an average hard working American. Yet Obama endorses it. Do you think Obama would endorse such an action if Joel Tenenbaum, of Providence, R.I was a black man? How about if he were Henrietta Homeless, playing America’s heartstrings for more unjust retribution for being an irresponsible, but black, human being?

What is most interesting is that the music industry continues to choose to attack the weak (just not the politically incorrect weak), despite the fact the wealthy and famous, including Obama, rip off the system daily utilizing their wealth and power. However, notice how careful they are to only attack whites, because any other attack would be considered an attack on minorities and politically incorrect. Blacks make up half of the prison population in the US, but they only make up 13% of the US population. So statistically, shouldn’t we all realize, they never steal music?

We have child abusers in government (Barney Frank), we have murderers in government (Ted Kennedy, Chappaquiddick), and we have the penultimate paranoids (Richard Nixon, “I’m No Crook”) who is dead now, bless his soul. So much for every man being created equal. These men of power and wealth are rarely taken to task. For them, there is another interpretation of the Constitution. We are created equal, but wealth and power provide for criminal and hypocritical action and exoneration once born.

When you consider that music is all over the internet and readily available for download from almost anywhere, and that it is impossible for any individual to track what is or is not copyrighted, the ruling is idiotic on its face. We are willing to bet that the judge has stolen music on his IPOD, computer or other musical device. There are nations world-wide that market pirated CDs and music, and the industry has done little but whine about that fact. Why? Because they cannot use US litigation to intimidate people outside the US. Americans pay the ultimate price for international piracy? How is that fair?

And why does the music industry never pursue the rich, famous and powerful? Because they might lose? And there goes their entire argument down the toilet. It is easier to swat the little guy who cannot afford to defend himself or herself (although, notice, they rarely attack women). Then the industry adds to its success by getting the hypocritical rich and powerful to defend their actions. In such an instance, shouldn’t it be obvious that a class action against the music industry should be allowed to defend individual Americans from their actions? If the music industry or any large conglomerate pursues more than 10 people for a given action, those people should be able to defend themselves in concert to level the playing field.

Another issue regarding the industry’s unfair tactics is their obvious reverse discrimination. Why do they not swat the minorities or women? Because it is politically incorrect. Justice is once again… fabricated.

Unfortunately, in the US, the industry can still use financial leverage and select their politically correct targets. They can demand an individual pay some exorbitant amount to the industry or be forced to pay attorneys to defend themselves, while the industry utilizes attorneys already on full employ. Deep pockets are the advantage. That is exactly what our laws are supposed to protect the American citizen from. Yes folks, even the white ones. We are all supposed to be equal under the law, and until Lady Justice takes off her blindfold, this is completely biased bullying of the average citizen by billion dollar conglomerates because they cannot manage the fair distribution of their own product.

There is the other side, and we understand the argument. Copyrights provide people rights to their art and patents provide protections from the theft of any invention. These people deserve the right to their reward due to their writings or inventions. Problem is, those copyrights tend to get gobbled up by the rich conglomerates. In addition, the conglomerates steal regularly from the little guy, and few have the resources to fight them, and lose despite the fact they are right. Might makes right, something we in America preach against. These laws were created to protect the little guy from having his inventions and creations being stolen by industry, but equality is a myth once again.

In fact, the reverse is true. The industry is putting the sting on the little guy to set an example so they can protect billions, rather than attack those that could actually afford to defend themselves, while they care little about the real artist or inventor that cannot afford to prevent the theft of his or her work. The laws were intended to protect the artist or inventor, but, in reality, they protect the conglomerate, the Sony, the Capitol Records, the Universal Studios who take cheap shots at people like Joel Tenenbaum, of Providence, R.I utilizing their vast wealth and resources while avoiding attacks on the politically incorrect and those with financial resources.

And now we have our President speaking out on the matter? The hypocrisy of Obama, which is no surprise considering his actions from the start of his campaign and throughout his current administration, is clearly demonstrated throughout the world wide web, the very mechanism by which the music industry claims their works were stolen!! Check out the links below:

http://www.barack-obama-now.com/blog/?p=1423

http://www.appscout.com/2009/04/barack_obama_international_mus.php

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/04/eff-wonders-did/

Obama is clearly calling the kettle black once again. Obama wants to nail a white boy for doing bad, when he himself is more of a criminal than Joel Tenenbaum, of Providence, R.I. There are only three huge differences. Power, Position and the Ability To LIE! A final fourth is Joel is a white boy.

So, we ask Obama, before he endorses such a court ruling, to release his IPOD to the Justice Department for review. Otherwise he should just go have a butt and shut the freak up.Popular Posts:

“Obama challenges critics on health care” -That is the general attitude of President Obama. Because of his majority position. Clearly, his stance is not that this is the best strategy for American healthcare, but that he will do whatever he has to in order to get Congress to sign it into law.

The real point that people in America are missing is that the plan is being subtly introduced to get America to pay Medicare and Medicaid through their contributions to nationwide healthcare. The objective of this bill is to get everyone to foot that bill, a general error by government along with the adoption of Social Security, not to provide better healthcare. Both are pyramid schemes that can no longer work if the population of America is not exploding. They inherently depend on a strongly expanding population to pay off the prior generation for their existence.

There is little doubt that Social Security will be adjusted to provide less and less compensation to individuals. This is accomplished in the same way a can of tuna goes from 6 ounces to 4 ounces, but you pay the same price because the can looks the same. Government just raises the age at which you can claim full benefits or creates other roadblocks or taxes to America’s benefits from these acts to get back some of what they originally promised to deliver.

President Obama is sadly misguided in his plan to nationalize health insurance. In Canada, healthcare quality has dropped significantly and many Canadians, placed on infinite waiting lists, have sought care within the US at their own expense. In some cases, it saved their lives. Government running your healthcare program is just plain not the way you want to go. It will be inefficient and delay the overall process of receiving treatment. Do you want a government agency deciding whether you live or die?

Most of all, and we refer back to the primary premise of this article, this is purely to take the burden off the Federal Government for their failure to meet the commitments they made decades ago to Medicare and Medicaid. Their solution is to place everyone under the new nationwide health plan and eliminate Medicaid and Medicare as a governmental entitlement and obligation. But do they state that fact? Are they honest with America? Do they even care how deceitful they are being?

President Obama, so far in his tenure, has accomplished very little. The passage of a long term stimulus bill that will leave our nation a trillion dollars in debt and provide the Democratic Congress control over the nation’s purse strings for the next decade is all President Obama can place on his resume. He has been the most do-nothing President we have observed in our history.

As President Obama lights up his next cigarette while making cigarettes unaffordable for everyone else, we invite him to explain his hypocrisy and to clearly define how his healthcare plan impacts Medicare and Medicaid. When President Obama gets emphysema or cancer because of his weakness, America will pay the bill. Isn’t it wonderful to know that hypocrisy is alive and well in America and resides in our President elect?

Palin’s future remains a mystery
Since Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced she was quitting, analysts have speculated about the reason she was leaving office– just 2.5 years into her first term.

Palin: Resignation was ‘the right thing’
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin says she her decision to resign was ‘tough,’ but motivated by ‘wasteful, expensive’ ethics violations and lawsuits she says started when she announced her run as vice president on the Republican ticket last year. (July 7)

From Drew Griffin and Kathleen Johnston

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) — Sarah Palin’s not a quitter, she wants the public to know.
Sarah Palin’s attorney said there is no legal reason that compelled her to resign as governor.

Sarah Palin’s attorney said there is no legal reason that compelled her to resign as governor.

“I am not a quitter. I am a fighter,” Palin told CNN on Monday while on a family fishing trip, on the heels of her Friday bombshell announcement that she was resigning as Alaska’s governor.

Palin did her interview standing on the shores of Dillingham, Alaska, wearing hip waders. She granted 10-minute interviews to CNN and three other news networks Monday.

She resigned because of the tremendous pressure, time and financial burden of a litany of ethics complaints in the past several months, she said. The complaints were without merit and took away from the job she wanted to do for Alaskans, Palin said.

The decision to resign a year and a half before her term ends, and her rambling, often-disjointed resignation speech Friday, fueled days of debate among political analysts.

Speculation has run rampant that Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008, will seek the presidency in 2012.

When pressed about her future, Palin would say only that she would work in public service. She did not rule out a run for the White House or any other political office.

Palin is to leave the governor’s office in late July.

Continuing Coverage: Gov. Palin calls it quits

The days since her resignation had been exhilarating and she loved being in Dillingham, a town of only a few thousand people and no cell phone service, Palin said.

On Monday, her personal lawyer also spoke about her resignation.

No legal “bombshell” or personal scandal lies behind Palin’s resignation, but off-color jokes by talk-show host David Letterman contributed to her decision to step down, Thomas Van Flein said.

The governor needed a break after being “on duty now for two and a half years solid,” he said.

“There is no bombshell. There is no shoe to drop. There are no investigations of any type that I’m aware of — no IRS audit, no federal investigation, no state investigation,” Van Flein told CNN. “There is no legal reason in terms of a legal problem that compelled the governor to resign.”

Friday was “deliberately chosen” for the announcement because of its proximity to the July Fourth holiday, Van Flein said: “She declared her independence from politics as usual.”

Palin reiterated that statement in her interview.

Rep. Les Gara, an Anchorage Democrat and a frequent Palin critic, said everyone was “wildly surprised” by Palin’s announcement.

“A lot of us were pretty disappointed in the concept that she can’t finish out a governor’s term,” Gara said. Palin’s resignation speech was “kind of similar to everything that has gone wrong since the governor has gotten back from her vice presidential campaign,” Gara said.

“When she came into office, everything was about openness and transparency, and now everything’s about excuses,” he said.

But Rep. Jay Ramras, a Fairbanks Republican who leads the state House Judiciary Committee, said when it comes to public opinion, “The concrete hasn’t set up yet.”

“Those that seem to have responsibilities to manage businesses that manage people seem to be much less tolerant of what she did,” Ramras said after attending Independence Day events over the weekend. Those people consider her “a quitter,” he said.

“And then there’s another group, where Gov. Palin has been successful in being able to imply — and certainly these people have inferred — that she was a victim.”

The 45-year-old governor had faced intense scrutiny since Sen. John McCain picked her out of relative obscurity to be his running mate last year. Though her acceptance speech drew rave reviews, her subsequent shaky performance in network news interviews, the drama surrounding her 18-year-old daughter’s pregnancy and two ethics probes into her earlier firing of the state’s public safety director dogged her throughout the rest of the campaign.

“In my opinion, she was the national campaign for Republicans last fall,” Van Flein said. “I know John McCain was the candidate, but the decision was really about Sarah Palin and could she take on Obama. That was a lot of weight on her shoulders to carry that campaign, and they almost pulled it off.”

As Election Day neared with McCain trailing in the polls, campaign aides began sniping at Palin as a “diva” who ignored top advisers and lacked “fundamental understanding” of key issues in the race. The McCain-Palin ticket ultimately lost to Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden last November.

Van Flein also said Palin would remain involved in public service, with no other decisions made at this point. But Gara said it was clear to him that Palin has her eye on another bid for national office.

He claims it is because of his struggle with the habit, but honestly, is he trying to quit? He won’t say. We sincerely doubt it.

Our opinion is that Obama is a complete hypocrite trying to appeal to the far left and go after smokers because it is the politically correct, albeit, hypocritical way to go. This man has no scruples. If he did, he would offer Americans guidance and leadership. If he had anything at all that makes up a decent human being and leader he would offer to quit in front of America and tell all those that smoked to quit with him. Instead he is forcing them to quit while he smokes behind closed doors. The man is despicable.

What is best about it is smokers will be hurt. They will remember. And despite what non-smokers think, they have their rights. They already cannot smoke in restaurants, bars, airplanes and just about anywhere else. Next they will be walking into their living rooms and prying the cigarettes from their tobacco-stained hands. Well, Obama doesn’t have to worry. At least the stains aren’t visible on his hands.

Story here.

As Wall Street collapsed, it became apparent to all involved that the investment houses trading in commodities had been manipulating prices. The huge drop in prices on oil and other commodities had very little to do with demand, and everything to do with speculation. These criminal trading houses like Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns had been lying to us for years about oil supply and demand among other distortions to drive up the value of their trading positions.

At nearly $150 a barrel, oil peaked and collapsed. Immediately prior to the collapse, experts at all these fraudulent houses predicted $200 oil or higher. The bottom fell out because these houses funding the rise with speculation went bust. They had to liquidate positions, driving the price of the commodities they were manipulating back down.

As we entered 2009, there were some glimmers of hope, especially in the Spring, that we may, ever so slightly, emerge from this crushing recession. During that time, oil has risen, which is somewhat understandable. But gasoline has risen percentage-wise much more. And these commodities have no increased demand. In fact, demand is flat. Exxon’s CEO in May said that demand was stagnant and that the only reason for any rise in oil prices was because of an anticipation of a recovery.

Many had made the faulty claim that demand from China was driving the price when oil spiked to astronomical levels. Well, if China is driving the current price move, it isn’t showing in any increased demand.

Evidence of how flat demand really is for oil, natural gas is near an all time low around $4.00/MMbtu. Natural Gas is selling at a small fraction of the cost of oil per unit of energy it generates. There is no explanation for the disparity other than oil is the darling of speculation houses and hedge funds and NG has much less sex appeal because of its vast domestic availability in the US, making it much easier to track real, not speculation fabricated, supply and demand.

Commodity Futures

Some lame attempts have been made to try and correlate the price of oil to a weak dollar, but that doesn’t fly. The dollar’s weakness is no where near justification for a hike in gasoline prices of 40% from 1.60 to 2.60 with absolutely no real increase in demand.

The same criminals like Bernard Madoff that made off with billions in investor;s money are being allowed to once again manipulate the markets and artificially drive prices of gasoline and oil higher just as we may be seeing some recovery from a dire economic malaise. Their greed is the key and the manipulation is a lie, just like everything these investment houses have been telling us for years.

Fact is, there is absolutely no increase in oil demand. There is absolutely no justification for the rise in oil or gas prices other than speculation. The same speculation that destroyed our real estate markets and created vast pockets of risk that resulted in a dire collapse of the world economy.

Speculators, many from investment houses that were bailed out by our government, are creating another oil and gas price bubble even though it is evident there is no increased demand, and there is no sign that the oil supply is dwindling. It is being created on the premise that any recovery will send prices soaring, but the fact is, we have already priced in a massive recovery and the speculators are most likely shifting positions out of oil, while they use the media to tell you oil is going higher. This is a lie and criminally driven in the same way it was when oil was kissing $150 a barrel and every lightning storm in Florida was a reason to spike the price.

This is not being driven by economics, but speconomics, which always leads to eventual collapse. We are predicting a much earlier collapse this time in the price of oil and gas, possibly within the next month, primarily because these trading houses have nowhere near the power to manipulate the markets that they had at the peak of the economy. Many of them are badly hindered financially and are shadows of the fraudulent manipulation hedge funds of yore. Supply and demand will catch up with them much faster in this environment.

Interestingly, just as gold neared $1000, many were saying the weak dollar and other factors would drive it to double that. It has been flat ever since. When every expert is telling you it is time to buy, it never is. But this time, it is even more evident, the speculators have no clothes.Popular Posts:

Conservative foreign and national-security policies do not need remaking, rebranding or remessaging. They need not be escorted by prefixes or adjectives, nor do they need “moderating.”

Conservative foreign policy is unabashedly pro-American, unashamed of American exceptionalism, unwilling to bend its knee to international organizations, and unapologetic about the need for the fullest range of dominant military capabilities. Its diplomacy is neither unilateralist nor multilateralist, but chooses its strategies, tactics, means and methods based on a hard-headed assessment of U.S. national interests, not on theologies about process. Most especially, conservatives understand that allies are different from adversaries, and that each should be treated accordingly.

These sentiments bear repeating because the fundamental principles underlying conservative foreign and national-security policy have never been stronger, and the consequences of deviating from them have rarely been so clear. The Obama administration’s first few months already provide compelling evidence of the enormous costs of embracing the alternative worldview of the European and American left. Of course, that was equally true when the Bush administration all-too-frequently deviated from conservative precepts, especially in its failure-ridden second-term. In many ways, unfortunately, the Obama administration is a continuation of the second Bush term, only worse.

Former President George W. Bush’s mistakes resulted from sleep-walking away from conservative values, whereas President Obama openly repudiates them, both believing in and fully understanding what he is doing. Accordingly, conservatives need engage in no “agonizing reappraisals” of their fundamental views. They need to adjust to being in opposition, but that is the purest kind of opportunity, not a burden. Mr. Obama’s wearying and unpresidential refrain of blaming his predecessor is implicitly a trap, an effort to entice us to reflexively defend the Bush administration. Instead, we should forthrightly explain where Mr. Bush went wrong, when he did, repudiating his errors as cheerily as Mr. Obama does, and then, agreeably to conservative principles, just as cheerily critiquing Mr. Obama’s even more egregious mistakes.

Defending U.S. interests is neither arrogant nor disrespectful of others, but is instead the basic task of our presidents. Despite the 2008 election, neither the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, nor international terrorism, nor the challenges of geostrategic adversaries have in any way diminished.
