BOLTON: Obama continues Bush’s 2nd term — badly

Conservative foreign and national-security policies do not need remaking, rebranding or remessaging. They need not be escorted by prefixes or adjectives, nor do they need “moderating.”

Conservative foreign policy is unabashedly pro-American, unashamed of American exceptionalism, unwilling to bend its knee to international organizations, and unapologetic about the need for the fullest range of dominant military capabilities. Its diplomacy is neither unilateralist nor multilateralist, but chooses its strategies, tactics, means and methods based on a hard-headed assessment of U.S. national interests, not on theologies about process. Most especially, conservatives understand that allies are different from adversaries, and that each should be treated accordingly.

These sentiments bear repeating because the fundamental principles underlying conservative foreign and national-security policy have never been stronger, and the consequences of deviating from them have rarely been so clear. The Obama administration’s first few months already provide compelling evidence of the enormous costs of embracing the alternative worldview of the European and American left. Of course, that was equally true when the Bush administration all-too-frequently deviated from conservative precepts, especially in its failure-ridden second-term. In many ways, unfortunately, the Obama administration is a continuation of the second Bush term, only worse.

Former President George W. Bush’s mistakes resulted from sleep-walking away from conservative values, whereas President Obama openly repudiates them, both believing in and fully understanding what he is doing. Accordingly, conservatives need engage in no “agonizing reappraisals” of their fundamental views. They need to adjust to being in opposition, but that is the purest kind of opportunity, not a burden. Mr. Obama’s wearying and unpresidential refrain of blaming his predecessor is implicitly a trap, an effort to entice us to reflexively defend the Bush administration. Instead, we should forthrightly explain where Mr. Bush went wrong, when he did, repudiating his errors as cheerily as Mr. Obama does, and then, agreeably to conservative principles, just as cheerily critiquing Mr. Obama’s even more egregious mistakes.

Defending U.S. interests is neither arrogant nor disrespectful of others, but is instead the basic task of our presidents. Despite the 2008 election, neither the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, nor international terrorism, nor the challenges of geostrategic adversaries have in any way diminished.

Dick Cheney Slams Misguided Obama Economic Advisor

Since the campaign for the Presidency began, we have heard the Democrats decry that the recession was the fault of GOP economic policies of the Bush Administration. When that wasn’t sufficient, they made equally hollow references towards Reaganomics or “Trickle Down Economics”.

None of these arguments are ever accompanied by any specifics related to factual connections or evidence. They refer to deregulation, but if it was deregulation, what specific deregulation did the Bush Administration impose that caused it? If it was a Bush policy, lay out the specific policy. And if it was caused by Reaganomics, explain the link exactly. Of course, the liberals cannot.

Such are politics. If things are going well, it is your doing. If they aren’t, pin the blame on the other side, even if the fault rests clearly on your shoulders.

The financial crisis we now face and that has led to this difficult recession is multifaceted. It is not so simple that any intelligent person could believe that the blame lies with any single individual, administration or even political party. While numerous factors contributed to the economic problems we face, the smoking gun was fired decades ago and is easily traced, and it began long before Bush first graced the Oval Office after defeating the planet-warming Al Gore.

Many mistakes were made along the way from the day the gun was fired, and Dick Cheney, in this interview, clearly points out one of the key reasons this crisis was not averted. The liberals do not like to hear it, but it is clearly called out in this article as well. Watching Dick’s calm demeanor and presentation of the facts is enlightening even though most liberals do not have the courage to actually watch the video.

At the start of the interview, Larry Summers, one of the Presidents top economic advisers humiliates himself and embarrasses Obama talking in hyperbole without saying anything definitive at all regarding the crisis, and such is the liberal argument. Hollow rhetoric and blame rather than solutions and action. They talk in circles, because they either have no clue what led to the problem or they don’t want the American people to know the real truth.

Cheney’s response is right on. He gives Larry Summers and the liberals a history lesson.

Since the election, our stock markets have crumbled to 15 year lows. The Dow and NASDAQ fall almost every day. Great institutions like Bank Of America and General Electric collapse to new lows no one ever believed possible.

So, as our economy is being destroyed, what would the most logical and sane leader do? Would you think the person would focus on the state of the economy? Do you think the leader would try to unite the nation behind rebuilding before taking on controversial partisan issues that have no urgency?

Obama has chosen to focus in divisive and expensive policies that hurt America and has broken his promise to regulate our institutions to better serve us. Our 401K’s crumble in his wake. Our savings dissolve. Our banks succumb.

But at least we know now that stem cells from fetuses can be used to make us a leader in the research of how to use murdered unborn children to advance our science. We will lead the world in murder of unborn children while Obama can’t even address a simple problem like stopping illegal short sellers from trashing our markets.

If you think Obama will save America, you have to believe in miracles. We are a bit more pragmatic. Real action has to be taken. Obama and the Democrats have done nothing but spend money. Liberals cry about the debt brought about by the GOP and the war, but Obama and the Democratic Congress have committed to spending more in several weeks than government did in the last 8 years including the expense of the war.

During the campaign, McCain called for the SEC Chairman’s head on a platter. That would be a start. Obama promised to bring back regulations to help our markets mend. Not one regulation has been forthcoming and all could have been easily passed into law by now without spending a trillion dollars on a massive so-called stimulus package. The complacency seems to imply either the total inability of government to act, or worse, an intent to bring down our financial markets.

The government stimulus philosophy is misguided. Bail out the criminal institutions, pay down the mortgages of the irresponsible and raise taxes on the middle class to pay for it all, after they watched their savings dissolve trusting the government and the institutions we are bailing out in the first place.

Democrats and Republicans alike made this mess. It is government’s fault. Alan Greenspan, Barney Frank and George Bush all are to blame. In his campaign, Obama made promises to reinstate regulations and to use responsible fiscal policies. So far, Obama has made no indication he has any clue how to address the problems and has been anything but responsible. Our markets are continuing to crumble at an astronomical rate and they are demonstrating how inept Washington is when it comes to protecting American citizens. No action has been taken to stem the tide. None. If the slogan is “Yes We Can”, we would like to ask, “When Will You Start?”.Popular Posts:

Liberal Media Shies Away From Henrietta Homeless

The liberal media has gone silent about Henrietta Hughes, the woman that begged for aid from Obama during his campaign to promote the spendulus bill. We find this quite amusing considering the way they attacked Joe The Plumber during the Presidential campaign. Joe adorned their front pages daily for weeks as they accused him of being the ultimate GOP miscreant.

If you recall, Joe The Plumber was paraded across every liberal media outlet as a fraud because he was not actually licensed yet, which was intentionally played to make people think he lied. In actuality, all he did was quickly answer a question about his occupation, which is indeed plumbing.

Joe never took anything from the system he did not deserve, he worked for it. He did not paint himself as homeless and hide what he owned to steal our tax dollars. He was, unfortunately, exploited by the lie-beral media. Fortunately, he overcame his bad publicity and became famous.

We really have to chuckle at the liberal media attack on Joe that claimed he was behind on his taxes. If that is true, we wonder why he wasn’t nominated to Obama’s administration. Joe got significantly more press for being a bit behind on his taxes than Tom Daschle did for his obvious illegal evasion. Tom had to later decline his nomination as did several of Obama’s chosen. They were stealing tax dollars while they seek to raise middle class taxes.

The hypocrisy of the liberal media speaks for itself. Henrietta has been shown to be a complete fraud and the media has silenced their praise. Do they point out their blunder? Do they admit that Obama staged a lie? Do any of them have the courage to admit their headlines were total distortions?

Had Henrietta actually turned out to be homeless, and this entirely staged Obama act was real, the media would have her face plastered on every page and the liberals would be parading her through Times Square, or at least through Washington. Henrietta would adorn a 60 minutes headline piece along with Obama grinning his condescending pompous grin while being chased by an adoring liberal correspondent.

It hasn’t happened because they want you to forget. They know Obama lied. They know they lied. And they know you know they lied. Sad isn’t it?Popular Posts:

We all know them. People that abuse the system. People that work a few months of the year, just long enough to qualify for unemployment, and then jump on the unemployment bandwagon. Those that get food stamps to support their families despite being able bodied, often educated and capable of work. And, of course, the people that work “under the table” while receiving government aid intended for the truly needy.

One such image sticks in our minds from a visit last year to a local softball game. Across the street was a truck distributing food for the needy. A brand new Mercedes pulled up and out popped a couple that walked over and jumped in line. How someone driving a $60,000.00 car qualifies for free food is beyond our imagination, but somehow these people find any way they can to abuse the system.

During Obama’s campaign to promote his stimulus package, he staged an event with a woman, Henrietta Hughes, who, as it turns out, appears to be anything but truly needy. Henrietta was given an audience with Obama to beg for a home. When aid was provided via the offer of free rent by an opportunistic politician, the liberal press spouted that Henrietta was actually given a free home and implied it came from Obama. The lie has propagated through the liberal media and, quite honestly, it nauseated us because it was so obviously staged and such a distorted lie. Well, as it turns out, the lie didn’t end there.

As is often the case with such lies, more information seems to shortly rise up from the darkness to expose the truth. This situation is no different and new information about Henrietta has come to light. It appears that the desperate homeless woman owns real estate she shifted into the name of her son to avoid taxes and acquire government aid. Apparently, Henrietta is the teacher and Tom Daschle is just a student. Henrietta also apparently sold real estate at a significant profit in 2005. Henrietta has now become the poster child the Democrats wish to use to justify the massive expense of helping the chronically unemployed, not-so-needy and not-at-all-homeless.

In the spending package forced through by Democrats and signed into law by Obama, there are extensions of unemployment benefits. We believe that the government is better off extending unemployment only for those that are recently unemployed, not those unemployed annually for years, or decades. We also believe that if the government cannot properly verify actual need, they should stop programs intended for the needy until they can. That would save funds which can be used for programs that actually help America as a whole, not just the unscrupulous. We also believe that if Obama himself cannot discern between this woman and a real homeless person, he shouldn’t be expecting government will actually give our tax dollars to the truly needy when the not-so-needy will grab it first. If you have ever been to a magic show or stunt show, quite often they will ask for a volunteer. The volunteer dawns the stage and the performer amazes us all as the feat of daring-do plays out.

Shows demonstrating how magic tricks are done have aired on television many times, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to most of you that in many cases, these so called volunteers are plants. They are professionals, or at least practiced and paid individuals, hired to perform their part of the act. The plant gets presented as a volunteer to draw in the audience, but if one were to attend two acts of the same show, it would ruin the effect because that same volunteer will show up at both performances as well. Amazingly, that same person will be selected from a crowd of thousands because he or she did such a great job the first time. Wink, wink.

Obama wants to paint himself in a positive light, and we believe he attempted the following slight of hand. In what looks to be a foolish staged stunt, Henrietta Hughes, a woman from Florida that supposedly lives in her pickup truck with her son, was given an audience with Obama to beg for housing. Here is why we think she was a plant and this was all staged nonsense.

1. She is an elderly black woman. There are many more homeless whites that would love a home. Why would Obama choose her to line up for this event? Perhaps reverse racism? Who knows, but it appears that almost every major video we find like this involves an elderly black woman and Obama. There were a couple of similar incidents during the Presidential campaign, one that occurred on 60 minutes.

2. Henrietta speaks much more clearly and dresses much better than any of the homeless we see in Boston. Maybe Obama put lipstick on the … before he dressed it up and put it in front of the camera?

3. The entire video looks like a complete setup. The woman was selected out of thousands to whine to Obama about her need for a home so another politician could immediately stand up and offer her one?

There are approximately 80000 homeless in the United States. That is likely a very low estimate. Out of a huge audience, Obama chose a lovable character that just happened to look as far from a homeless person as possible and that looks more like someone with whom his grandmother attends church? Please.

All that aside, let’s assume Obama isn’t as disingenuous as we believe he is. Say he did actually go to the effort to find an actual homeless woman, dressed her up and told her to beg. It was still staged. Watching the video several times makes it hard to believe otherwise.

Now, how did it play out? The liberal media has Obama coming to the rescue of the woman by offering her a home. That is if you read the headlines. The headline on the HuffingtonPOst.com was “Henrietta Hughes Given Home After Telling Obama She Was Homeless”. The article only got two Diggs as one reader nearly immediately pointed out that it was a lie.

The implication of the headline and the misleading if not downright false article is Henrietta was gifted a house. In actuality, Henrietta was offered free rent until she could get back on her feet in a staged event to make Obama look like a demigod. Henrietta played her role well enough to get a few months of free rent.

“Basically, I offered Ms. Hughes and her son the opportunity to stay in my home rent free, for as long as they need to,” said Chene Thompson, wife of State Representative Nick Thompson. “I’m not a millionaire, I’m not rich, but this is what I can do for someone if they need it.”

To Clene Thompson we say…

There are tens of thousands of homeless that need assistance. Your reason for providing help to this specific woman is that you wanted the publicity and because of her appearance in the Presidential magic show with Obama. Your stunt is obvious and your sorry act is as transparent as clean air.

The Obama performance will likely get nominated for a Tony, and the HuffingtonPost has once again published an amazingly transparent lie for the liberals to fall victim to like adoring children. It will be interesting what trick our magician Obama will pull out of his hat next, and what the next complete lie out of the Huff will be.Popular Posts:
