@katie_glueck Maybe he took a pen and a phone with him to Europe, like someone took to Martha's Vineyard.

While Texas Gov. Rick Perry was in Europe, two nurses who had been providing care for Ebola patient Thomas Duncan were diagnosed as having contracted the virus. Perry subsequently cut short the planned trip and returned to Texas.
Ebola is a big problem for Perry, according to this Politico article:
During Rick Perry's absence from Texas, two more cases of Ebola were confirmed. This is his Ebola problem: http://t.co/sog4TJAibO

.@katie_glueck I've been reassured for five years that a governing l executive can do his job anywhere.. Like at a fundraiser or golf course
— S.M (@redsteeze) October 18, 2014
@politico Was he golfing or fundraising?
— EducatédHillbilly (@RobProvince) October 18, 2014
@politico Yeah, it's not like he went golfing or fund raising or anything.

That must be an “**only Obama is allowed” thing.
@redsteeze If he had canceled the trip: "Perry uses Ebola fear to boost 2016 chances"

Anything to avoid shining the light elsewhere and risk undermining the narrative.
@politico That's the dumbest thing I've ever read. How is the governor supposed to prevent nurses from getting sick? Idiots.

@politico Never mind that Obama's CDC is responsible for the lack of Ebola protocols. But go ahead and blame Perry cuz he's a republican!!
